God’s Urgent Call to Build His House Today

Posted on December 11, 2025December 11, 2025 by Angelica robinson

“Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?” Haggai 1:4

The Warning

One of the ways the Lord speaks to me is through dreams. I’ve had dreams that were warnings for myself and for others. I’ve had dreams where I was rebuking demons and performing deliverances, and I’ve also had dreams of encouragement, reminding me to hold fast to God’s promises.

Recently, I had a dream that shook me and reopened my eyes to what is coming upon this earth. In Revelation chapter 6, Scripture describes the opening of the seven seals. There is a rider on a white horse, Jesus, who goes forth to conquer. Following Him are three other horsemen representing war, famine, and death.

In this dream, I came across a man who began speaking to me, explaining that the rider on the white horse, Death, and Hades were all together. He started questioning and crying out, “Am I going to die?” Then he told me that he needed to start a men’s Bible study. The moment felt urgent and symbolic, even though I didn’t fully understand it right away.

To most people, this dream may not make sense and may even seem random. But in the Bible, the dreams we read about follow patterns and are filled with symbolism. When someone received a dream, they would either consult a prophet of God for interpretation or pray to God Himself for wisdom and understanding. In the same way, I found myself seeking the Lord about what this dream meant and why it came with such weight.

“We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.” Genesis 40:8

He said, “Listen to my words: When there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.”  Numbers 12:6

The Interpretation

I tried to make sense of what I had seen, I prayed to God, asking Him to reveal the mysteries of this dream, and then I went back to sleep. When I woke up, the book of Haggai was heavy on my heart. The Lord began speaking to me, showing me that time is shortening and His house remains in pieces. His children are so busy building their own homes and tending to their own lives that they’ve forgotten about the House of God.

The Lord says in Haggai 1:2, “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord’s house.’”

The Great Commission

Many of God’s children go about their lives planning and preparing for tomorrow, next week, and even the years to come. We place money in stocks, save for homes, and plan vacations, birthdays, and anniversaries, confident that we’ll see those days. And while there’s nothing wrong with that, we often neglect the responsibility God has placed on us.

In Matthew 28:18 20, Jesus gives His disciples a clear command: to go out, preach the gospel, and make disciples of all nations.

As for me, I know many people who have no idea who God is. Every day, we meet people who have never heard the truth about Jesus or how He can transform their lives. Each day, we are given opportunities to live out this command and to help build up the house of the Lord.

Haggai 1:8 reminds us, “Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord. This call is not just for the people in Haggai’s time—it is a call for us today to actively participate in building God’s house and living out His purpose.

The Workers

I encourage you to go to God in prayer and ask Him how you can help plant seeds in the hearts of others, so that when the day of harvest comes, it will be plentiful.

Matthew 9:35-38 reminds us, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” This scripture reinforces the importance of prayer and action, calling us to participate in God’s work and help bring His love to those who need it most.

The Time is Now

For the past few months, the Lord has been whispering to me that “now is the time.”

Now is the time to use the gifts the Lord has granted you to build up his kingdom. Now is the time to strengthen your walk with God. Now is the time to preach the gospel to your unsaved friends and family. Now is the time!

“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.” – Haggai 2:6- 7

Praying for you all, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Let’s go out and proclaim the gospel.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7
